Kerry Brown is an experienced teacher of gentle yoga, yin yoga, and chair yoga. She has a great knowledge of how the body works, and how chronic conditions affect the body, from her background as a Dietitian.
She teaches classes in a comfortable home studio in Pukete, multiple retirement villages, Chartwell Cooperating Church, Abundance studio (City Fitness), and the upcoming new O-Studio.
Her philosophy is to do what feels right for your body, as we are all different. Yoga is an individual activity (not a competitive sport!). She believes everybody can do yoga - despite any physical limitations you may have.
Join Kerry (an experienced yoga instructor with a passion for making yoga accessible for all) and this welcoming group for slow, breath-focused movements which will strengthen and stretch the body, calm the mind, increase your awareness of your body, and leave you feeling relaxed.
We do it all with the use of the chair without getting onto the floor which makes it perfect for those with an injury or limited mobility, older adults, or those living with a chronic condition that makes attending a regular yoga class difficult.
This class is an approved Community Strength & Balance Programme (Live Stronger for Longer).
Everyone is welcome.
Some of the benefits that class attendees report:
Please wear comfortable clothing. You can choose to be barefoot, wear socks, or flexible shoes (if no shoes is not an option for you).
Please arrive between 1:20-1:30pm to allow yourself time to settle in before class.
Try to avoid a large meal in the hour before class.
