About us
Above the Beat Dance Studio is a friendly, community-focused dance studio offers a fun and supportive environment where children can discover the joy of movement. We specialise in jazz and tap classes for kids aged 4 and above, helping young dancers build confidence, coordination, and rhythm while having a great time. We also have adults tap and jazz classes.
For our littlest movers, we also offer playful toddler classes for ages 2–3, designed to spark imagination through music, storytelling, and creative movement.
Whether your child is taking their very first steps into dance or ready to develop their skills, our classes are all about encouragement, creativity, and fun every step of the way.
Our programme
Our Jazz and Tap classes are for children aged 4 and above. We have a range of classes for different ages and teach the NZAMD dance syllabus.

What you need to know
Children will be placed in a class based on age and experience.
We have adults tap and jazz classes available as well.
