So you’re tough, but are you tough enough to take on the New Balance Secondary Schools Tough Guy and Gal Challenge?
Take on other students from around the country on this muddy obstacle course consisting of swamp crossings, a spider’s web net climb, crawl under barb wire, beautiful native bush trails, tunnels, hurdles, a climbing frame, water crossings and not to mention, mud, mud and more mud! There is a Toughest School Trophy on offer for the winners in this approx. 6km event!
Students can gain NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 credits at the New Balance Secondary School Tough Guy and Gal Challenge.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE DISTANCE – It is an APPROXIMATELY 6km course, but due to the nature of our different venues terrain and challenges, we equate the TIME TAKEN of the fastest person to be “equivalent” to a flat 6km cross country course. Therefore, some venues are shorter in distance, but equivalent in time. Regarding the NCEA timebands, each venue is calculated individually rather than combined to take into consideration any course changes, weather conditions and distance differences.
The Ngaruawahia Christian Youth Camp offers a stunning venue nestled between the Waipa River and the Hakarimata Scenic Reserve. The camp is set amongst 38 hectares of native bush and pastures, ready and waiting for tough guys and gals to take on the challenge.
