About us

Established in 1956, the Taupo Ski Club was formed to cater to the growing sport of skiing. The club has a rich history and continues to be a hub for skiing enthusiasts in the region.

Our programme

The Taupo Ski Club offers a range of activities and events for its members:​

• Interclub Races: Each year, the club participates in a series of five interclub races held on Whakapapa. These races are team events with categories for Junior, Senior, and Masters. Teams usually consist of five members, at least one female, with the best four times contributing to the result. ​

• Club Championships: The club organizes its own championships, providing members with the opportunity to compete and showcase their skills. ​

• Social Events: After races, prize-giving and social gatherings are held at the respective club, featuring food, refreshments, and spot prizes.

What you need to know

Membership:

Available to everyone living in the Great Lake Taupo District and to those who can prove a close affiliation with the area. Membership fees include entrance fees, subscriptions, and work party levies. 

Accommodation:
