Our mission is to foster and promote trout angling in the Taupo District within the principles of the best conservations practices and to conserve, promote, foster advance and protect the angling interests of our members.

Our programme

TALTAC offers a year-round programme focused on recreational trout fishing and angler support in the Taupō region. The club provides:

• Access to Clubrooms with accommodation, kitchen facilities, and a communal lounge for members and guests.

• Fishing Competitions and social events throughout the year, including club fishing days and inter-club challenges.

• Conservation Advocacy, supporting the health of the Tongariro River and wider Taupō fishery.

• Member Services such as fishing advice, river condition updates, and coordination with the Department of Conservation (DOC).

• Education & Community Engagement, encouraging sustainable fishing practices and mentoring younger or less experienced anglers.
