About us
Waikato Diving offers learn to dive programmes (Springboard and Platform) at Waterword Te Rapa. Ages 6 and up, boys and girls. Social and competitive divers catered for. Diving enourages water safety, fitness, team work and confidence. Have a go sessions possible.

Squads
Learn to Dive
- For those who are wanting to experience something new and exciting in the sport, developing new skills for deep water.
Learn to dive is the first step into challenging yourself.
- Here you will begin learn Skills level 1 and 1b.
Approach Squad
- This is the first level of the club, progression from Learn to Dive where you'll be attending local events or regional events, showing real courage and determination to learn.
- Here you will begin to learn Skills level 2.
Take Off Squad
- Progression from Approach Squad.
- You will be starting to learn new and more advanced skills, facing yours fear, and attending regional and national competitions.
- Here you will begin to learn Skills level 3.
Flight Squad
- Progression from Take Off Squad.
- National and junior international competitions, where you'll be developing not only physical strength but also mental stratergies that will help you in your day to day life.
- Here you will begin to learn Age Group.
Entry Squad
- Progression from Flight Squad.
- This is elite level diving where you'll be aiming to attend major international competitions, focusing on more complex dives.
- Here you will begin to learn Junior Elite.
What you need to know
Ages 6+ (adult diving available). Must be a confident swimmer in water depth of 4.6m.
